Design notes:''The impact of the Highland Clearances is well known within Sutherland. With many people forcefully evicted from their homes between the 18th & 19th century by landowners to make way for large scale sheep farms. This forced many people to move to the coast or further afield to seek work and new homes. This had a significant impact on the Gaelic culture which still resonates in the area to this day''
