The Thompson family took over the running of the Dornoch Castle Hotel in June 2000. They have spent the past 16 years developing the business to become the recognised institution it has become.

Situated in the historic town of Dornoch, Sutherland, the castle boasts a marvellous town centre location and over looks the beautiful and historic Dornoch Cathedral. The globally lamented Royal Dornoch Golf course is 5 minutes walk away as is one of Scotland's most beautiful beaches.

The Castle holds 22 en-suite bedrooms between the original Castle building and the modern extension with a variety of room types decorated to perfectly compliment the Scottish Castle atmosphere.

Simon and Philip's passion for spirits began because of the family business. If it were not for the opportunity to learn the family trade, they would not have gained valuable knowledge and understanding of outstanding spirits.

There interest fully bloomed after returning to the family business after completing their studies. What was interest, appreciation and understanding became passion and on occasion obsession!
